2001 Technology Survey

The 2001 Technology Survey represents the input of 373 member firms, representing over 62,000 attorneys and more than 150,000 end users.  Ninety-four percent of the respondents are from private law firms, the rest from corporate or governmental legal departments. 91 percent are headquartered in the US, 7 percent in Canada, and the balance from outside North America.  The median firm is composed of 85 attorneys and 200 users located in three offices. Approximately a quarter of the firms have more than 200 attorneys while another 25 percent have fewer than 50.  Responding firms range in size from six attorneys to 1,500, from 23 users to 3,800 and include those with a single office and those with more than 20 locations.
