Financial System Selection Process

A common question that comes up in the ILTA communities, in particular for smaller firms, is what are your options for financial software?  What is everyone else using and why did they choose that particular one?

You may have missed the series last year on that very topic that was hosted by Beth O’Connor and Julie Lindsay, both from AAC, Inc., so below are links and recaps for the series.  I am also including information on a series that was presented in 2016 which still has relevant information when navigating the process of purchasing a new financial system.

(Click on titles to access the recording and related materials for each session)

  1. Financial System Selection – Lessons Learned During Selection: Common Pitfalls

This is the first webinar in the series and dives into the selection process and how to compare vendors.

  1. Peer Insights from Firms that Recently Selected Elite 3E or Aderant Expert Financial Systems

In this webinar you will hear from different firms who selected either Elite 3E or Aderant and how they made that decision.

  1. Peer Insights from Firms that Selected Rippe & Kingston LMS or Aderant Sierra Financial Systems

In this third installment you will hear from firms that selected Rippe & Kingston or Aderant Sierra and their considerations and processes to come to their final selection.

  1. You’ve Selected a Financial System – Now the Real Fun Begins

This webinar shares lessons learned from 200+ implementations, and includes information from successes and common issues to watch out for. It also covers project logistics like who should be on the team, acceptance testing, and scope management.

In addition to the above webinars, there was a similar series in 2016 that you will also find useful in your research and decision making process.  You will find a summary and links to recordings here.

Please let us know by leaving a comment if you find this information useful and if there is other information you would like to see on this topic.
