Tips and Tricks To Master the PDF (5/13/2013) - Presented by the User Support Services Peer Group. The PDF is ubiquitous as a document format used in the legal industry. However, from the front desk to the managing partner, many users haven't learned how to do more than just convert one document at a time to PDF. This webinar will review advanced tasks such as merging and collating documents, PDF/A, Bates labeling, redaction, exhibits, binders, notebooks and more.

Follow the Rules: A Case Study (5/29/2013) - Co-Sponsored with the Financial Management Peer Group. With more than 850 lawyers in 19 offices across the US and Asia, Seattle-based Perkins Coie represents great companies across a wide range of industries and stages of growth-from start-ups to FORTUNE 500 corporations. With a substantial case load comes a lot of underappreciated processes and tasks routinely handled by the firm's support staff and legal teams, which also includes the docketing and calendaring process. While not necessarily viewed as a strategic asset within all law firms, calendaring and docketing is one of the core functions performed by the firm for its legal teams and clients. With the advent of legal-specific court date calculation and rules-based calendaring technologies, firms of all sizes and budgets can tap into resources to assist with the calendaring process, improve efficiencies, and minimize the risk of missing a deadline. This session explores the firm's calendaring automation challenge and what they have proactively done in conjunction with the Aderant CompuLaw rules-based calendaring technology.
