Are you a person who makes New Year's resolutions? For those of you who work out at a gym or take an exercise class, you know how full the gym is in January, February and sometimes March. The gym begins to get less full as people do not keep their resolution to get into shape for the New Year. The same thing happens with other New Year's resolutions. If one of your New Year's resolutions for 2015 was to improve your social media presence, it is not too late to get started. Here are some tips to get you started improving your social presence.
- Fix your avatar: The purpose of an avatar is to convince people that you are approachable, likeable and trustworthy.
- Update your social bio: Your bio is important on all of your social media sites no matter if it is on Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ or Facebook. Twitter does have a limitation on characters, but you can add keywords that tell people who you are and what you do. Don't be afraid to share your interests on your social bios as this provides a way for people to connect with you.
- Use a scheduling service (for example, Buffer, Hootsuite or Tweetdeck): These services allow you to write one post and share them on multiple platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Facebook.
- Share at least one post per day: Posting consistently is what helps you build a following and develop relationships. It is also important to share others content.
