Here is something that doesn't happen every day. Last night, I clicked on the AALL/ILTA joint white paper "The New Librarian" planning to skim the contents to get an idea of what articles I might want to read later, and before I knew it I had read the entire paper cover-to-cover in one sitting. The articles were all timely and engaging, and raise ideas applicable far beyond the realm of law librarianship. As someone responsible for knowledge management and a mix of other areas of law firm management that includes information resources and services, I suppose I am the perfect audience for this white paper. However, I would highly recommend it for people working in any area of law firm management and operations. In addition to the many interesting concepts it covers, the white paper also offers practical tips that could be put into practice relatively easily for some quick wins. Thanks to the editors and authors for this excellent and useful resource!
