Don't Refresh Apps Running in the Background
Background App Refresh
continually refreshes content when running on Wi-Fi or a cellular network. To disable this feature for apps that you don't need to automatically refresh, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.

Turn Off Automatic Updates
Apps updated automatically unless you turn off the option in Settings > iTunes & App Store >> Automatic Downloads.

Turn Off Location Services
Turn off Location Services for apps that do not need access to your location. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.

Disable Auto-Brightness
Go to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness and disable Auto-Brightness. You can adjust the brightness setting manually from the Control Center.

Disable Parallax
The Parallax feature makes the icons on your screen appear to shift as you move your device. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on Reduce Motion.

Don't Use Dynamic Wallpapers
Dynamic wallpapers bring subtle animations to the Home and Lock screens. Go to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper and select an image from Stills or from your photo library.

Turn Off AirDrop
AirDrop (iPhone 5 or later) lets you share your photos, videos, locations, and other items wirelessly with other nearby iOS 7 devices that support AirDrop. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center and turn off AirDrop.

Turn Off Blue Tooth
Go to Settings > Blue Tooth

Stop Searching for Wi-Fi
There's no need to have your phone searching for Wi-Fi when there's no trusted network in sight. Get in the habit of turning off Wi-Fi from the Control Center when you leave the house.

Silence Siri
iPhones: Turn off the Raise to Speak feature. Go to Settings > General > Siri > Raise to Speak.
iPads: Turn off Siri. Go to Settings > General > Siri.

Disable Spotlight
Apple's internal search functionality, Spotlight, is continually indexing new data. Go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and disable what you don't need, such as events and podcasts.
