Need to replace formulas with values in your spreadsheet? Just wiggle. . .your mouse, that is.

  1. Select the cells that contain formulas.
  2. Hover over the selection border until the mouse pointer changes to 4-sided arrow.
  3. Now for the wiggle:
Right-click + drag the selection a few cells away and then drop them back at the original location.
  4. Select Copy here as values only from the menu.

Customizing Excel Cursor Direction & CTRL+ENTER Magic

Go Cursor, Go!

By default, when you press Enter, Excel jumps to the next cell in the current column. But if you're filling out rows of data, it may be more convenient to have the Enter key move you to the next cell in the row. To change the Enter key's behavior, go to Excel Options ' Advanced ' Editing options section ' "After pressing Enter, move selection: select Down, Right, Up or Left from the Direction drop down box.

Stay Cursor, Stay!
To make the cursor stay in the same cell after entering data, press Ctrl+Enter. This is helpful if you need to copy the cell contents afterwards.

However, you should check out these CTRL+Enter copying tricks below:

You can use CTRL+Enter to enter the same data in to several cells.

  1. Select all the cells where you want to enter the same data.
  2. Type the data
  3. Press CTRL+Enter
  4. Done!

CTRL+ENTER can be used to fill all the blank cells, too.

  1. Select all the cells, Press F5
  2. Select "Special"
  3. Select "Blanks" to select all blank cells
  4. Now type whatever you want
  5. Press CTRL+Enter
  6. Done!
