Microsoft Lync is a unified communications platform that integrates telephony, instant messaging, and video and audio collaboration. One of the great features of Lync is the ability to share your screen with one or more contacts. This feature allows you to instantly collaborate with others by broadcasting any part of your desktop to remote participants in real time, straight from a chat window.
To share your screen, follow the steps below:
- From Microsoft Lync, search for the person and double-click their name to open a chat window;
- Hover the mouse over the Monitor icon at the bottom of the chat window;
- Select the content to be shared, i.e., Monitor, Program, etc.
- Once you`ve selected an option, the person you've sent a Share invitation to will need to accept the request in order to see your shared content.
When screen sharing, you can give control to the person you're sharing with so that both of you can make changes to a shared document, and navigate shared screens and applications.
To share control with an attendee, follow the steps below:
- Select the Give Control button on the Presenting toolbar, and
- Select the name of the attendee you wish to give control to.
- Alternatively -
- The attendee can click the Request Control button in the Presenting toolbar.
