Snipping Tool - Capture a Screen Shot of your Desktop

Microsoft Windows provides a Snipping Tool application that captures a screen shot of anything on your desktop, such as a dialog box or a section of webpage.  After you capture a snip, it`s automatically copied to the Clipboard as well as a mark-up window.  From the mark-up window, you can annotate, save, or share the snip via e-mail.

Available Snipping Options:

·        Free-form Snip - Allows you to draw a free-form shape around an object.

·        Rectangular Snip - Allows you to drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.

·        Window Snip - Allows you to select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box that you want to capture.

·        Full-screen Snip - Allows you to capture the entire screen.

To Capture Snip:

·        Access the Snipping Tool by clicking the Start button;

·        In the search box, type snip and then click Snipping Tool;

·        From the Snipping Tool window, click the arrow next to the New button;

·        Select the desired type of snip from the list:

o   Free-form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window Snip, or Full-screen Snip.

·        Select the area of your screen that you want to capture with your cursor.

To Share The Snip Via E-Mail:

·        In the Snipping Tool window, click the arrow on the Send Snip button;

·        Select the appropriate option from the list:  E-mail Recipient or E-mail Recipient (as attachment).
