You may notice a slight a name change to But Wait… There’s More. Beginning next week, each post will have a title reflecting the specific content of the post to better help you find the information you need.
Turning Data into Knowledge
Members recently recommended tools for knowledge repositories. How do we collect the knowledge and where do we find it? One tactic is to know your data and use it wisely. ILTA members have good suggestions in this subject area. Amy Halverson provides a framework for thinking about data in, “All About Data.” Andrea Alliston shares lessons learned on developing taxonomies in “Does Anyone Do Taxonomy Anymore?” Artificial intelligence tools can handle some of the heavy lifting of turning data into knowledge. ILTA hosted a webinar on an AI tool, “RAVN ACE: AI to Automatically Read, Interpret and Summarize Key Information from Documents and Unstructured Data.” The ILTACON session “Choosing the Right Artificial Intelligence for the Job” can also help in your planning. Then consider “The Future of Legal KM” which demonstrates the next possibilities for making the most of our data and our institutional knowledge.
