Charting the Future: Aderant Global Momentum 2026 Kicks Off with Electrifying Energy and a Clear AI Vision
Energy in Fort Lauderdale
The energy in Fort Lauderdale is absolutely electric as Aderant Global Momentum 2026 gets underway. After the first full day, it is clear this conference is about much more than product updates. From the opening sessions to the conversations happening in the halls between meetings, there is a real sense that the legal technology community is leaning into an important moment of change. It has already been a full and meaningful first day here, with one conversation after another reinforcing just how much our community is thinking about what comes next for legal technology.
A lighthouse in the AI fog
Aderant President and CEO Chris Cartrett set the tone with an opening message that struck a balance between excitement and realism around AI in the legal space. Framing the discussion around the idea of a “Lighthouse Through the Fog,” the message acknowledged the uncertainty many firms are feeling as AI accelerates, while also making the case that this is exactly the moment for clarity, practical direction, and thoughtful leadership.
What resonated with me was that the message was not simply that AI will change everything. It was that AI, used thoughtfully, can strengthen how firms operate, make decisions, and serve clients, while still keeping professional judgment and experience at the center. That framing felt especially relevant because it aligns closely with many of the themes we have already been discussing through Inside Aderant and in the broader ILTA community around transparency, trust, and execution that actually works in practice.
That same sense of transparency also came through in the discussion around iTimekeep. One of the things I appreciated was the willingness to speak candidly about where challenges have existed, what was learned from them, and what Aderant has been doing to improve both the product and the overall client experience. That kind of openness matters, because firms are not just looking for innovation. They are looking for accountability, honesty, and a partner that is willing to work through issues alongside them.
To me, that was one of the more important signals from the day. It showed that Aderant is not only focused on the future, but also willing to be direct about the work required to get there, including listening to firms, learning from missteps, and improving in partnership with clients.
Innovation in practice
That same mindset came through in Aderant’s launch of the Agent Center, built on the Stridyn platform and powered by MADDI. Announced here at Momentum, the Agent Center is designed to bring AI-driven workflows into real business functions, starting with collections, appeals, and talent evaluation.
It is a strong example of how Aderant is positioning AI not as a concept off in the distance, but as something firms can begin applying to operational challenges today across the work-to-cash lifecycle and beyond. That practical focus has been one of the most compelling parts of the conference so far.
Broader product direction
Aderant also highlighted broader investments in next-generation Accounts Receivable and General Ledger, AI-powered time capture and narrative generation, and continued innovation across its financial management platform. The theme that keeps coming up is connection; not just standalone tools, but a more integrated and intelligent back office.
Expert Sierra continues to be part of that larger story as well. Aderant is still positioning Sierra as an important cloud foundation for firms that want to modernize core systems, reduce complexity, and create more room for continuous innovation. Talking to people here, it is clear that many firms are trying to strike that balance between stability and progress, and Sierra is being positioned as one of the ways to support both.
Recognizing firms - Congratulations!
Congratulations to Baker Botts as Firm of the Year, Holland & Knight LLP as Innovator of the Year, Michael Best as Newcomer of the Year, and Kean Miller for the Better Together award.
These recognitions are a reminder that progress in legal tech is not only about platforms and product roadmaps, but also about the firms willing to partner, innovate, and help move the industry forward. They deserve real thanks for helping spotlight what collaboration and forward-thinking leadership can look like in practice.
Bringing the value back to ILTA
From an ILTA perspective, that is where the value of being here becomes even more important. Through the Strategic Partner Liaison program with Aderant, there is a real opportunity to bring these conversations back to the ILTA community in ways that are practical and ongoing, not just tied to a single event.
The goal is to carry this momentum forward through future engagement, including follow-up discussions, knowledge sharing, and community conversations around AI-enabled operations, cloud modernization, client experience, and the real-world business challenges firms are working through right now. One of the most valuable aspects of the SPL program is that it helps create a bridge between conference insight and community learning.
Looking ahead
My biggest takeaway after the first full day is that Aderant Global Momentum 2026 is creating space for a very real and very timely conversation about the future of legal operations. The energy is high, the vision is clear, and the innovation being showcased here demonstrates that Aderant and its clients are not just talking about the future of legal tech, they are actively building it.
As the conference continues, I am looking forward to bringing more of that value back to ILTA through future conversations, continued SPL engagement, and broader community discussions that help turn conference momentum into shared learning.
