Serve & Secure: ILTA Conference 2012 - SOSPG Lineup

Hello ILTA Fans! We're about a month away from another Conference with phenomenal sessions planned by The Server Operations & Security Peer Group.  Our sessions are so good, that most of them are on Monday where we know we’ll have your full participation and attendance. Ok, that’s not why they are on Monday, but you should make Monday your SOSPG day and attend the sessions. Let’s see what’s going on.

To back up a bit, on Sunday afternoon there will be a Community of Interest gathering for the LegalSEC crowd. This is a great time to have informal discussions and connecting opportunities in anticipation of the big LegalSEC session later in the week. All are welcome to attend.

Now, on to the sessions.  First, at 11am we have a panel discussion on different technologies and methods for backing up your virtualized data center. Since there are so many different ways to skin the virtual cat, this is bound to be a great discussion on what different people are doing to back up their vm infrastructure.

At 1pm, we have speakers talking about different DR methods with Exchange 2012. Exchange 2012 brought a lot to the table with regards to native disaster recovery, but what else is there? Do you need something more or are native tools enough? Come to this session to find out.

At 3pm, we have a session talking about Co-Location versus in-house Data Center. This isn’t your typical talk. Two men enter and only one leaves, winner takes all! Ok, maybe it’s not as intense as a MMA bout, but our panel will be sure to give you the insight and lessons learned that you’ll need if you are facing such an important decision.

Finally at the end of Day 1 we have IPv6. Our acclaimed speaker from last year returns. IPv6 is such a fundamental change to how everything is done, that we just didn’t have time last year to cover it all. This year, we’re focusing on deployment strategies and methodologies. Even if you don't think IPv6 is for your firm in the near future, you need to know about the what lies ahead as the Internet moves to IPv6 and this session will show you the way.

Now, let’s now jump ahead to the most important session of the week. LegalSEC. By now many of you have heard about the formation of this new program from ILTA. This session is your opportunity to come listen, and more importantly, be heard. That’s right. The session is interactive so everyone can begin to be a part of this very important initiative. This session is so important that ILTA gave it the best timeslot of the week, Thursday morning, 8:30am. ILTA Conference veterans will agree that Thursday morning is the most interesting time of the week.

Finally, immediately following the LegalSEC session at 10am is another very strong security session called “Advanced Persistent Threats”. Listen to a security industry expert explain to you what this is, why it matters and how to guard against it. Here is a friendly hint, if you don't know what APT is, you should come to this session.

Well, that’s it. SOSPG has worked hard to raise the bar on the sessions for 2012 and we think we’ve done just that. Hope to see you next month at all of the SOSPG sessions.
