ILTA India - Governing Legal AI Before Someone Does It For You

When:  Jul 23, 2026 from 11:30 to 13:30 (BST)

Join us for the ILTA x ILTN's India Legal Innovation Panel, hosted by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) & the Indian LegalTech Network (ILTN) in partnership with Aarna Law.

This event brings together law firm leaders and legal AI vendors in Bangalore for an honest conversation about what self-governance for legal AI actually looks like in practice. Who sets the standards? Who holds firms accountable? And what happens if no one does?

Event Description

India's AI governance guidelines are deliberately light-touch for now. Voluntary, principle-based, built on the assumption that industry will step up.

That window will not stay open indefinitely.

If law firms and legal AI vendors don't move to shape their own governance frameworks, the alternative is a reactive regulatory intervention. The gambling industry learned this the hard way.
