Law firms have rapidly adopted AI tools and integrated them into day-to-day workflows. Many firms look at adoption of these tools as a way of validating the significant financial investment AI represents. However, given the budget investment, adoption metrics don't really tell us whether the tools are making attorneys more effective or more efficient. In addition, there is an expectation from alternative fee clients that the use of AI tools will result in more efficient delivery of legal services. How can law firms ensure that the use of AI is truly making the delivery of legal services more efficient and maintaining or improving the profitability of fixed fee work?
