Records management and information governance are often under-discussed functions in firms despite the central role they can play in reducing risk, supporting client obligations, improving operational efficiency, controlling storage costs, enabling compliant collaboration, and helping firms prepare for emerging demands around AI, data security, and regulatory scrutiny.
This closed, in-person roundtable will create space for a focused and candid discussion among peers. Led by Tony Allen, European Information Governance Manager at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, the session will explore the realities of records management and information governance today: What is working, what is causing frustration, and where firms are finding practical ways to improve day-to-day processes.
We will begin with a short scene-setting introduction before opening into a group discussion. Participants will be encouraged to share experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and practical approaches in a confidential setting. The discussion will not be recorded, and insights shared in the room will remain within the group.
The aim is for this to become the first in a regular series of London meet-ups for the practitioners behind RIM and IG in law firms — creating a trusted forum to exchange perspectives, discuss common challenges, and track progress over time.
