PURPOSE:
ILTACON is the premier educational and networking event for the legal sector. This four-day event features extensive educational content inspired by and developed by peers, with a member volunteer planning committee comprised of five teams of session coordinators.
ROLE:
ILTACON Session Coordinators help develop memorable conference sessions and experiences. Session coordinators will help develop the educational program within ILTA's programming framework, working in small teams to develop ILTACON sessions for specific audience groups or areas of focus. Each Session Coordinator will have direct responsibility for producing approximately four educational sessions. The process includes initial idea creation; development of takeaways, learning objectives, delivery formats, speaker profiles; recruitment of speakers and facilitators, managing the development of session formats and content with speakers and facilitators. At conference they are expected to briefly introduce and monitor each of their sessions. They will also support their team in all activities and session development.
TERM:
November 1 through the conclusion of ILTACON, renewable subject to application and interview
The time commitment varies but averages 1-2 hours per week.
TEAM COMPOSITION:
The ILTACON Planning Committee is comprised of the following member volunteer roles:

ILTACON Session Coordinators (35)
In addition to these members, the ILTACON planning committee is supported primarily by the ILTA Event Education Manager and Event Education Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute ILTA's strategic goal of member engagement through delivering premier programming at ILTACON
- Embrace an agile, nimble and flexible approach to programming
- Exhibit a positive communication style in person, on the phone and through email messages with council members, other volunteer leaders and staff
- Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy
DUTIES:
- Actively participate in meetings and calls with the committee and sub-teams
- Participate in ILTACON planning meetings requiring travel:
o January: Entire ILTACON team meeting at ASCEND
- Develop educational sessions for ILTACON: topic generation and development of learning objectives and takeaways; determine presentation format; develop a speaker profile and select the best speaker applicants; and participation and management of educational content development
- Attend ILTACON and serve as the onsite monitor for assigned sessions, which includes providing a brief scripted introduction to the session
- Attend planning team meetings at ILTACON
- Actively listen and follow direction of Team Coordinator and Co-Chairs with respect to educational content
- Provide updates to Team Coordinator on status of speaker selection and session development
- Document progress and ideation on ILTA’s on-line site (currently VIP)
- Serve as an ambassador for ILTA by promoting ILTACON and volunteerism

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Objective Criteria:
- ILTA member
- Complete the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
- At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
- Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
