PURPOSE:
The NextGen Legal Innovators Advisory Group is dedicated to engaging, developing, and mentoring young professional volunteers across the ILTA community. Through strategic promotion of volunteer opportunities and meaningful participation, the group fosters young professional engagement and ensures the continuity of ILTA’s volunteer leadership pipeline.
By providing resources, support, and mentorship, the advisory group empowers emerging leaders with the skills and experiences needed to grow into impactful contributors and future organizational leaders.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Members of the NextGen Legal Innovators Advisory Group play a vital role in shaping ILTA’s future by empowering the next generation of legal professionals. Responsibilities include:
- Champion the international expansion of ILTA by balancing existing expertise with diverse cultural values and perspectives.
- Support the identification and placement of young professional volunteers into opportunities that match their skills and aspirations.
- Foster a sense of satisfaction, purpose, and growth among young volunteers through mentorship, support, and feedback.
- Execute recruitment strategies and professional development initiatives to strengthen ILTA’s volunteer pipeline.
- Partner with ILTA’s Board, Councils, Committees, and Content Coordinating Teams to amplify the voices of young professionals and ensure representation in thought leadership and programming.
TERM:
Two-year terms with a maximum of three consecutive terms; renewable subject to selection process.

DUTIES:
- Attend monthly advisory group meetings to collaborate and share insights
- Identify tasks, issues, and opportunities requiring involvement of different ILTA councils and committees
- Engage new and existing young professionals by promoting roles, benefits, volunteer progression, and pathways to leadership
- Support young volunteers in finding their role within the organization and growing in their professional journey
- Identify methods to target young professionals, international and diverse members, and business partners to promote volunteer positions
- Recommend strategies and implement approaches for engaging and onboarding young professionals across different regions and cultures
- Partner with ILTA volunteer-led groups to execute impactful programs and initiatives supporting young professional involvement
- Design tactics to maintain the long-term involvement of young professionals long-term, to ensure ILTA evolves with generational needs and supports leadership progression from first-time volunteers to Board roles
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Minimum Criteria:
- Active ILTA member, business partner, or industry participant
- Completion of the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form prior to appointment
- Ability to accept direction from ILTA volunteer leadership and staff as required
- Ability at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
- Capacity to thrive in a collaborative environment
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of ILTA’s structure and culture through previous engagement
- Experience mentoring and providing feedback
- Enthusiasm for ILTA’s mission and ability to communicate its benefits to potential volunteers
- Comfortable navigating and responding to shifting priorities
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteers do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
