PURPOSE:
ILTACON is the premier educational and networking event for the legal sector. This four-day event features extensive educational content inspired by and developed by peers, with a 40-member volunteer planning committee comprised of five teams needing team coordinators.
ROLE:
ILTACON Team Coordinators will lead a subset of the planning committee, helping session coordinators meet the goal of developing advanced and thought-provoking educational sessions within ILTA’s programming framework. They will help to build and support their team of volunteers, and aiding their team members’ professional development. The Team Coordinators will also mentor session coordinators in developing educational sessions related to specific audience groups or areas of focus, and act as communication conduits and coaches.
TERM:
October 1 through conclusion of ILTACON, renewable subject to application/interview process
The time commitment varies but averages 2-3 hours per week.
TEAM COMPOSITION:
The ILTACON Planning Committee is comprised of the following member volunteer roles:
ILTACON Co-Chairs (2)
ILTACON Team Coordinators (5)
ILTACON Session Coordinators (35)
In addition to these members, the ILTACON planning committee is supported primarily by the ILTA Event Education Manager and Event Education Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute ILTA's strategic goal of member engagement through delivering premier programming at ILTACON
- Embrace an agile, nimble and flexible approach to programming
- Exhibit a positive communication style in person, on the phone and through email messages with council members, other volunteer leaders, and ILTA staff
- Lead and mentor a team of session coordinators to develop the educational program for ILTACON
- Collaborate with ILTACON Co-Chairs and ILTA staff liaisons to identify, select, and manage series facilitators and Executive Advisors
- Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy
DUTIES:
- Actively participate in meetings and calls with the Co-Chairs, sub-teams, and full committee
- Participate in ILTACON planning meetings requiring travel
o October: Co-Chair/Team Coordinator meeting
o January: Entire ILTACON team meeting at ASCEND
o March: Co-Chair/Team Coordinator meeting
- Attend ILTACON and oversee team deliverables
- Serve as an ambassador for ILTA by promoting ILTACON and volunteerism

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Objective Criteria:
- ILTA member
- Complete the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
- Four to six years’ experience working in legal technology
- Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
- Previous service of at least one year on ILTACON as session coordinator

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
