Summary:The LegalSEC Steering Committee is responsible for outlining the goals of and identifying deliverables for the LegalSEC initiative, using the content coordinating teams and security focused ILTA members on a per-project basis.
TermSteering Committee Members serve one year, renewable subject to annual interview/approval.
CompensationSteering Committee Members do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
ResponsibilitiesMeetings
- Attend monthly steering committee teleconferences
- Attend steering committee meeting at LegalSEC Summit
- Attend LegalSEC Summit
- Attend special or ad hoc meetings as needed (if possible)
Special Projects
- Serve as lead on deliverables as determined by the steering committee
- Draft project plan for deliverables, outlining goals, planning phases and deadlines
- Run regular calls with project team members
- Provide status updates on ILTA's volunteer teamsite and monthly steering committee calls
- Meet deadlines on assigned deliverable
- Work with ILTA staff on logistics for presentation of finalized deliverable
Required Qualifications
- Work at an ILTA member entity
- At least two years of experience working in legal technology
- Interest in attending ILTA's annual conference
- Experience as a conference speaker, regular discussion forum (e-group) contributor or other ILTA involvement
- Advanced knowledge of technologies related to LegalSEC areas of focus
- Willingness to commit time required (5 hours per month for 12 months)
- Willingness to work to achieve the LegalSEC goals
- Willingness to accept direction from the LegalSEC Advisory Board and ILTA staff as required
- Willingness to serve as an ambassador for the organization, always reflecting ILTA's core values
