Description:

PURPOSE:
A Content Coordinating Team Coordinator is a member of the Content Coordinating Team and serves as a leader of the team. The Team Coordinator assists ILTA Staff and the Content Team’s Program Planning Council members support a cohesive team that works together to develop educational content.

ROLE:
Team Coordinators will lead designated Content Coordinating Teams by helping them meet their goals of developing advanced and thought-provoking educational sessions within ILTA’s programming framework. They will help to build and support their team of volunteers and aiding their team members’ professional development. The Team Coordinators will also mentor content team members in developing educational sessions related to specific audience groups or areas of focus, and act as communication conduits and coaches.

TERM:
One Year; renewable subject to selection process: September 1 to August 31

TEAM COMPOSITION:
The Content Coordinating Team is comprised of the following roles:

  • Two Program Planning Council Members, serving as liaisons
  • One Content Coordinating Team Coordinator
  • Five to seven Content Coordinating Team members (dependent on team’s areas of focus)


The team will be supported by the ILTA Education and Content Manager and an ILTA Education Coordinator as their staff liaisons.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Content Coordinating Team members to develop educational programing for ILTA members based on areas of focus and target members
  • Manage monthly calls with ILTA Staff Liaisons while keeping team on task and working through planned agendas
  • Execute ILTA's strategic goal of member engagement through delivering premier programming year-round
  • Embrace an agile, nimble and flexible approach to programming
  • Exhibit a positive communication style in person, on the phone and through email messages with Program Planning Council liaisons, Content Coordinating Team members, other volunteer leaders, and ILTA staff
  • Create ownership of topic development and outreach to other volunteer groups or members interested in assisting in Project Team roles
  • If desired or time permits, act as Program Sponsor to ensure Content Coordinating Team programming ideas are maintained through completion by attending Project Team kickoff calls and serving as a resource for Project Team questions
  • Approve meeting agenda drafts created by ILTA Staff Liaisons
  • Seek input from ILTA Staff Liaisons to identify programming gaps in format, audience, areas of focus
  • Collaborate with Program Planning Council Liaisons after Ascend and quarterly to identify themes, group similar topics and to identify gaps for relevant content team
  • Collaborate with Content Team and ILTA Staff between calls using MS Teams channels to fill in or complete upcoming programming ideas
  • Reach out to members who miss monthly calls
  • Follow up, with ILTA Staff, after monthly calls with team members with assigned tasks via MS Teams. Any missing information identified will be discussed via MS Teams
  • Working with ILTA Staff Liaisons, ensure a formal orientation is provided for Content Coordinating Team members
  • Coach Content Coordinating Team members by advising on being a program sponsor, on methods of promoting content and meeting programming goals
  • Promote and follow up to ensure all quarterly programming surveys are complete by all Content Coordinating Team members
  • Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy



DUTIES:

  • Co-lead monthly one-hour conference calls
  • Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute deliverables
  • Participate in team discussions via MS Teams channels and email
  • Attend monthly calls with ILTACON Team Coordinators to collaborate on programming topics that complement their deliverables
  • Provide monthly or quarterly reports to: Member Liaisons, Strategic Partner Liaisons, International Teams
  • Review Quarterly Performance with ILTA Staff liaisons, identifying any areas of improvement and conveying this information to Content Coordinating Team members
  • Identify any Content Coordinating Team performance issues and address as needed
  • Serve as an ambassador for ILTA

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:

Objective Criteria:

  • ILTA member
  • Complete the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
  • At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
  • Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
  • Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
  • Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
  • Previous service of at least one year on Content Coordinating Team

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
