PURPOSE:
The Program Planning Council Vice-Chair assists the Chair with overseeing the Program Planning Council volunteer group tasked with developing an overarching programming framework that serves all sectors of ILTA’s membership.
ROLE:
The Program Planning Council Vice-Chair is an appointed member of the Program Planning Council. The Vice-Chair works closely with the Program Planning Council Chair to complete delegated tasks and liaise with the Board, staff and Program Planning Council members to set goals, ensure priorities are being met, problem-solve and set agendas. The Vice-Chair moves into the Program Planning Council Chair role at the end of the Chair’s term.
TERM:
One Year (as Vice-Chair); August 1, 2019 – July 31, 2020
The Program Planning Council Vice-Chair moves into the role of Program Planning Council Chair (barring unusual circumstances) at the end of the Vice-Chair term August 1, 2020 – July 31, 2021

The team will be supported by the VP of Education and Program Manager, Education and Content as their ILTA staff liaisons.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works to support the Program Planning Council Chair and completes delegated tasks
- Attends all Program Planning Council calls and in-person meetings
- Attends a monthly call with Chair and staff liaison to the Program Planning Council
- Removes obstacles to achieve Program Planning Council’s annual goals and sets priorities
- Keeps and reports on metrics
- Actively participates in Program Planning Council meetings and calls and other ILTA teams as necessary
- Helps develop the Programming Framework for the year
- Helps to execute ILTA's strategic goal of increasing member engagement through consistent programming across all ILTA deliverables
- Participates in interviews and selection of other Program Planning Council members
- Coaches and mentors ILTA Program Planning Council members
- Exhibits a positive communication style in person, on the phone and through email messages with Council members as well as other volunteer leaders and staff
- Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy
DUTIES:
- Co-lead monthly one-hour conference calls
- Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute particular deliverables
- Participate in team discussions via Slack channels and email
- Serve as an ambassador for ILTA

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Objective Criteria:
- ILTA member
- At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
- Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
- Experience as a member of the Program Planning Council
- Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
