ILTACON 2015: Best Practices for Business Development & Pricing Partnerships

By Kate Cain posted 08-13-2015 15:00

Clients want value. Attorneys want business. Pricing and Business Development professionals work to connect these two. But how can you connect the dots so everyone gets what they want and more functional relationships emerge in the process? If you find yourself asking this question, you will want to attend this session on Monday, August 31 at 4 p.m.

Our panel will dive into the complex relationships between in-house legal departments, business development professionals and pricing experts. Connie Brenton, Chief of Staff and Director of Legal Operations with Netapp, and Robert Harchut, Associate General Counsel for GlaxoSmithKline, will contribute voices from the client side of the process. Chris Emerson, Chief Practice Economics Officer at Bryan Cave, will offer his experience working with law firms on pricing strategies and related issues and Aleisha Gravit, CMO of Akin Gump, will add the marketing and business development perspective.

The panel will navigate through thought-provoking questions centered around three key areas: Roles, Goals and Communications. The group will reveal what motivates their teams when it comes to pricing or proposal opportunities including the goals and priorities that influence their approach and the outside factors that may be a surprise to others. We will share communication strategies that have been successful and offer lessons learned from those that have not.

Along with contributions from our audience, we will look to find common ground, understand what lies behind our differences and, ultimately, inspire a more collaborative and transparent approach across the board.

We will see you there!
